Old Faithful: The Komatsu Dozer

Updated: May 24

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It.

On Instagram recently, Jason Strange posted about how he bought a 98 model Komatsu bulldozer and did not intend to keep it.  The Ace’s Custom Builds general contractor wanted to use the dozer to clear a tract of land in Huntsville, Texas, then sell it when he was done. However, that project made Strange realize how much he enjoyed being on the dozer, it was his getaway.

Fifteen years later, now King of Metal Homes, Jason Strange still has the dozer. He incorporates it into building the house pads for all the metal homes he and his team custom build. Old Faithful, the beloved dozer, has sentimental value, it's a part of the family now.

Strange believes it's like saying, “if it ain't broke, don't fix it”. It doesn't take a brand new dozer to construct a high quality barndominium. Old Faithful is all he needs.
